Workflow improved, say UA

Hot on the heels of Avid’s announcement of Pro Tools 9, the first version of the company’s DAW to be able to run without Avid or Digidesign hardware, Universal Audio told us the news that all of the plug-ins for their UAD2 DSP platform are now available in RTAS format. Though UAD2 plug-ins could always run quite happily on Pro Tools systems via FXpansion’s VST to RTAS wrapper, the announcement that Universal Audio are now an official Avid RTAS software developer means that the wrapper is no longer required, which UA say means that Pro Tools users “will be assured of an improved workflow in the future”.
